Soon you will be able to use your Premier Members credit and debit cards with Apple Pay, the easy, secure, and private way to pay.
Use Apple Pay with iPhone 6 and above, to pay in stores without swiping your cards and in apps without entering payment and contact information. Just pay with a single touch of your ﬁnger using Touch ID.
With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual credit and debit card numbers when you add your card, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored. And when you make a purchase, the Device Account Number alongside a transaction-speciﬁc dynamic security code is used to process your payment. So your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.
In addition, paying with Apple Pay is private as the cashier never sees your name, card numbers or security code.

What is Apple Pay™?
Apple Pay will allow you to pay for your purchases with your iPhone® 6 or iPhone 6 Plus at participating merchants by holding your iPhone near a contactless reader. You’ll also be able to pay through certain apps.
Which Premier Members cards can I use for Apple Pay?
You will be able to use Apple Pay with most Premier Members consumer credit and debit cards.
Will my payments be safe with Apple Pay?
There are several advantages to using Apple Pay. When you use Apple Pay, your Premier Members card number won’t be stored on your phone or given to the merchant. A unique digital code will be created specifically for that device.
How will my privacy and personal information be protected?
Since Apple Pay won’t store your credit or debit card number on the device, you’ll never reveal your name, card number or security code to merchants.
When can I use my Premier Members card on Apple Pay?
Approximately 500 banks and credit unions entered into a partnership with Apple® when Apple Pay was announced in September. Premier Members was among them. We are working diligently with Apple and Visa™ to complete the implementation process as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Which devices will have access to Apple Pay?
Apple Pay will require an iPhone 6® or iPhone 6 Plus to work. You’ll also be able to use Apple Watch™ when it becomes available. While Apple is one of the first to make use of digital account numbers to enable secure mobile payments, digital account numbers will likely become available on additional connected devices in the future.
How does the transaction process work?
Add your Premier Members card to Apple Pay by using your iSight® camera to instantly capture your card information or by entering it manually through Passbook. To initiate an in-store transaction, hold your iPhone about an inch from the merchant’s contactless reader. The digital account information stored on the device will be transmitted directly to the contactless reader. To complete a transaction, gently press your finger against the Touch ID™ fingerprint scanner on your iPhone. Your fingerprint is used to make sure that you are authorized to complete the transaction. Apple Pay can also be used online. Again, you use the fingerprint scanner on your phone to verify your purchase. Apple Pay’s online payment capability from within apps will be expanded to the new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini.
Do I need to be connected to the Internet?
For in-store contactless payments, you do not need to be connected to the internet.
Will I be able to opt out of Apple Pay at any time?
Adding your credit or debit cards to Apple Pay is your choice; you can add or remove any of your cards when needed.
What merchants will be participating?

Can everyone use Apple Pay?
Apple Pay can only be used on certain Apple devices, but all smart phones are getting their own cellular payment platform. So don’t worry, no one will be left out of the new payments movement in due time.
What happens if my phone gets stolen? Doesn’t that expose all my payment information?
The experts from Apple Pay, MCX & Beyond underscored that losing your cell phone is a bummer in terms of losing your contacts. But in terms of worrying about your CU account information, having your phone go AWOL is not the end of the world. A physical element of the person who owns the phone is necessary to complete a transaction…a fingerprint, PIN, or something only you know.
Isn’t using a credit card safer? After all, that’s more tried-and-true technology.
In fact, transactions run on Apple Pay are safer than credit card purchases because Apple Pay leverages tokenization, which replaces a credit card number with another number associated with the device. If hackers get hold of a device’s token, it is useless without the device (and the associated user’s identification–the fingerprint, PIN or something only that user knows mentioned above).
What if hackers hack Apple Pay through the database of a large retailer?
The same idea applies: A token without the phone and its user is useless.
